Former Nigeria Under-20 striker Alhaji Gero scored for Swedish club, Östersunds FK on Thursday as they emerged champions of the Svenska Cupen (Swedish Cup).
Gero struck seven minutes before the end as Östersunds FK won 4-1 against Norrköping at Jämtkraft Arena in the final of the Svenska Cupen.
It was his first of the season and it came at the vital moment as Östersunds FK secured the first bit of silverware in Sweden in 2017.
The victory also guarantee Gero and his Östersunds FK teammates a place in next season’s Uefa Europa League play-offs.
Gero scored five goals in all competitions for Östersunds FK last season.
The 23-year-old has previously played for Öster (Sweden), Viborg (Denmark) and Nigerian clubs like El-Kanemi Warriors, Lobi Stars, Kaduna United and Enugu Rangers.
